Marine Equipment
Rehoboth Marine Equipment Repair L.L.C is a ship repair company in the Al Hayl Industrial Area, Fujairah, specialising in marine main engine overhaul, vessel crankshaft grinding and polishing and ship cylinder head reconditioning. We work in the engine room - not on the hull - which means our fitters, machinists and measuring equipment are set up for running gear, bearings and precision machining rather than steel renewal. Superintendents call us for planned overhauls at Fujairah anchorage and for breakdowns that must be closed out before the vessel sails.
Work is carried out onboard at Port of Fujairah, Fujairah anchorage, Khorfakkan, Port Rashid, Dubai Maritime City, Jaddaf, Khalid Port Sharjah, Ajman Port and Marina Port Abu Dhabi, or in our workshop when a component has to come ashore for machining, re-metalling or balancing. Every job is returned with recorded clearances and measurements so the chief engineer and class surveyor have a documented result.
Each discipline below is handled by our own engineers and machinists from the Fujairah workshop.
Piston and liner withdrawal, main and bottom-end bearing renewal, running gear inspection and re-assembly to maker's clearances on two-stroke and four-stroke engines.

Read moreA superintendent facing wiped bearing metal or scored journals needs to know the sequence and what will be measured. This is the procedure our team follows in Fujairah.
Bearing caps are lifted, shells removed and the damage photographed. We record wiping pattern, score depth and any embedded debris, and take oil samples where contamination is suspected.
Journal and crankpin diameters are measured at multiple points for ovality and taper with micrometers, and crankshaft deflections are taken and compared against the engine maker's limits.
Scoring is removed by in-situ grinding, followed by progressive polishing with emery belts until the required surface finish is achieved. Fillet radii are checked and blended so no stress raiser is left behind.
Existing shells are checked for bond failure and cracking. Where re-metalling is required the shell is stripped, tinned, re-cast with white metal, and bored to suit the measured journal size.
The bearing is hand scraped and blue-checked against the journal until the contact area meets the maker's specification, giving even load distribution rather than a hard spot that fails again.
Bridge gauge and feeler readings are taken, oil clearance verified, bolts tightened to the specified torque or hydraulic pressure, and the final measurements issued to the vessel in a written report.
Which route suits your vessel depends on the component, the port stay and the machining required.

We mobilise from Al Hayl Industrial Area to Port of Fujairah, Fujairah anchorage, Khorfakkan, Port Rashid, Dubai Maritime City, Jaddaf, Khalid Port Sharjah, Ajman Port and Marina Port Abu Dhabi. Tell us the engine make, the symptom and your sailing time, and we will confirm attendance and the spares needed.
Yes. Most main and auxiliary engine overhauls are done onboard at Fujairah anchorage. Only components needing machining, re-metalling or balancing come ashore to our Al Hayl Industrial Area workshop.
Yes. Journals and crankpins are ground and polished in-situ. We take ovality, taper and deflection readings before and after so the result is documented against the engine maker's limits.
General yards are geared for hull and steel structural work. Our workshop and engineers are set up for engine room mechanical work - running gear, bearings, cylinder heads, fuel systems and precision machining.
Call +971 55 399 5722 with the vessel's location and defect. Fujairah anchorage and Port of Fujairah are closest to our workshop; we also mobilise to Khorfakkan, Sharjah, Dubai, Ajman and Abu Dhabi ports.
Yes. We identify spares from the maker's plate and drawing numbers, quote with lead time, and deliver them to the vessel alongside the repair team.
How we approach the failures superintendents ask us about most.
