Rehoboth Marine Equipment Repair L.L.C carries out marine refrigeration and HVAC systems repair onboard at Fujairah anchorage and from our workshop in the Al Hayl Industrial Area, Fujairah. We cover provision plants, reefer and cold room systems and accommodation air conditioning - refrigeration compressor overhaul, condenser and evaporator cleaning, expansion valve and thermostat setting, leak detection, gas recovery and charging, and electrical control fault finding.
In Gulf ambient temperatures an AC or provision plant failure becomes a crew welfare and cargo problem quickly. Because our refrigeration engineers work alongside our electrical and mechanical teams from the same Fujairah base, a fault that turns out to be a contactor, a seized compressor or a fouled condenser is closed out in one attendance instead of three.
Each system fails differently. This is what we attend and the work usually involved.
| System | Common complaints | Our scope |
|---|---|---|
| Accommodation air conditioning (chilled water and direct expansion) | Cabins not cooling, compressor short cycling, high head pressure, water carry-over | Compressor overhaul or renewal, condenser cleaning, refrigerant leak detection and charging, expansion valve and thermostat setting, fan motor and control repair |
| Provision plant (meat, fish, vegetable and dairy rooms) | Room temperature drifting, ice build-up on the evaporator, solenoid or thermostat faults | Compressor service, evaporator defrost and coil cleaning, solenoid and thermostatic valve renewal, control calibration per room |
| Reefer container and cold room plant | Loss of set point, alarms on the controller, oil loss from the compressor | Controller and sensor checks, compressor and oil system inspection, leak testing and recharge |
| Refrigeration compressors | Knocking, low oil pressure, loss of capacity | Valve plate and piston ring renewal, bearing and shaft seal replacement, oil change, pressure testing and running trial |
| Ventilation and HVAC fans | Vibration, bearing noise, low airflow | Fan bearing renewal, impeller balancing, motor rewinding at our Al Hayl workshop, duct and filter inspection |
A checklist rather than a sales pitch - this is what our refrigeration engineer works through on boarding.
Suction and discharge pressures, compressor oil pressure, room and ambient temperatures, and the controller's alarm history are recorded before anything is touched.
Fouled condensers, blocked filters and failed fans mimic a refrigerant fault. Sea water flow through the condenser and air side condition are verified first.
Electronic leak detection and, where needed, a pressure hold test locate the loss. Refrigerant is recovered rather than vented before any joint is opened.
Valve plate condition, oil level and appearance, capacity control operation and shaft seal leakage determine whether an overhaul or a change-out is the right call for your schedule.
Thermostats, pressure switches, solenoids, contactors and the motor's insulation resistance are checked - frequently the real cause of a plant that trips repeatedly.
After repair the system is evacuated, charged to the correct weight, superheat and subcooling set, and room pull-down proven and recorded before handover.
Our refrigeration engineers attend at Fujairah anchorage, Port of Fujairah and other UAE ports, backed by the electrical and mechanical teams at our Al Hayl Industrial Area workshop.
Yes. Accommodation AC and provision plant repairs are done onboard at Fujairah anchorage and at UAE ports; components needing machining or rewinding come to our Al Hayl Industrial Area workshop.
Yes. We recover refrigerant before opening the system, repair the leak, evacuate, and recharge to the correct weight, then set superheat and subcooling and prove the pull-down.
Both. Where the compressor is repairable we renew valve plates, rings, bearings and shaft seals and pressure test it. Where it is beyond economic repair we advise a change-out.
Yes. Our refrigeration, electrical and mechanical engineers work from the same Fujairah base, so control, motor and mechanical faults are closed out in one attendance.
