Vessel Turbocharger Overhaul, Compressor & Auxiliary Machinery Repair

Auxiliary Machinery Workshop in Al Hayl Industrial Area, Fujairah

Our ship compressor repair workshop in Al Hayl, Fujairah handles the auxiliary machinery that keeps a vessel operational: marine turbocharger overhaul, air compressor rebuilds, marine heat exchanger chemical cleaning and vessel hydraulic pump troubleshooting across UAE waters. Rehoboth Marine Equipment Repair L.L.C attends onboard at Fujairah anchorage for inspection and fault finding, and brings units ashore for cleaning, machining, balancing and pressure testing when the scope calls for it.

Every unit goes back with measured clearances or a pressure test record, so the chief engineer can show the result at the next survey. We mobilise to Port of Fujairah, Fujairah anchorage, Khorfakkan, Port Rashid, Dubai Maritime City, Jaddaf, Khalid Port Sharjah, Ajman Port and Marina Port Abu Dhabi.

Marine Heat Exchanger Overhaul & Chemical Cleaning Options

Coolers foul in different ways depending on type and duty. This table compares the overhaul routes we offer so you can pick the right scope before the vessel arrives.

Exchanger typeTypical dutyOverhaul scopeCleaning methodTesting on completion
Plate heat exchangerCentral cooling, lube oil, jacket waterPlate pack opened, plates separated and inspected, gaskets renewed, pack re-torqued to plate dimensionChemical bath circulation plus mechanical brushing of each plate; crack and pinhole checkHydraulic pressure test of both circuits
Shell-and-tube coolerLube oil, jacket water, sea water serviceEnd covers removed, tube bundle withdrawn, anodes and gaskets renewed, leaking tubes plugged or renewedChemical circulation to remove scale, followed by tube brushing and high-pressure water jettingHydraulic pressure test and dye check where required
Charge air coolerScavenge air after the turbochargerCooler element removed, fins inspected for erosion, water side inspected for scaleChemical dip and circulation, low-pressure water rinse of the air sidePressure test at working pressure before refit

Urgent Hydraulic Pump Troubleshooting for Commercial Vessels

A deck crane or hatch cover that will not operate stops cargo work. This is the sequence we follow when we board a commercial vessel for a hydraulic fault in UAE waters.

  1. 01

Take the symptom, not just the complaint

Slow operation, loss of pressure, overheating oil and noise each point to a different failure. We establish when the fault started, whether it is load-dependent and what changed before it appeared.

  2. 02

    Oil condition and level check

Reservoir level, oil temperature, water content and contamination are checked first. A large share of pump failures on deck machinery start with contaminated or aerated oil.

  3. 03

    Measure pressure and flow

Gauges are fitted at the pump outlet and service line, and pressure and flow are measured against the system drawing to separate a failing pump from a leaking valve or actuator.

  4. 04

    Test relief and directional valves

Relief valve setting, directional and counterbalance valve function and solenoid operation are tested before any pump is condemned.

  5. 05

Overhaul or replace the failed component

Hydraulic pumps and motors are overhauled onboard or in our Fujairah workshop - seals, bearings, swash plate and port plate condition - and hoses and fittings renewed where they are the cause.

  6. 06

    Flush, bleed and recommission

The system is flushed to the required cleanliness, air bled, settings restored and the machinery function tested under load before we sign off.

Turbocharger, Compressor or Hydraulic Failure in Port?

Send us the maker, model and the symptom. We will advise whether it can be closed out onboard at Fujairah anchorage or should come ashore to our Al Hayl workshop, and what it will take.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is your ship compressor repair workshop?

In the Al Hayl Industrial Area, Fujairah - G Block, Plot No 88 - close to the Port of Fujairah and Fujairah anchorage, with mobilisation to other UAE ports.

Can a turbocharger be overhauled during a normal port stay?

Often yes. We survey the unit onboard, and where rotor cleaning, balancing and bearing renewal are required the rotor comes to our Fujairah workshop and returns clearance-recorded.

Do you clean heat exchangers without opening them?

Yes. Where the port stay does not allow dismantling we connect a circulation rig and chemically descale the water side in place, then verify the result by pressure drop and temperature difference on load.

Do you handle vessel air conditioning and refrigeration as well?

Yes - provision plants and accommodation AC, including compressor service, leak detection, gas recovery and charging and control fault finding. See our marine refrigeration and HVAC page.

How fast can you attend a hydraulic breakdown affecting cargo operations?

Call +971 55 399 5722. Fujairah anchorage and Port of Fujairah are closest to our workshop, and we mobilise to Khorfakkan, Sharjah, Dubai, Ajman and Abu Dhabi ports.
